THORNBURY Health Centre is now equipped with a life saving heart defibrillator.

The high tech machine, which could mean the difference between life and death for heart attack victims, has been purchased by Dr Paul Male and Dr Peter Burney who have surgeries at the Eastlands Road centre.

"We had help from the British Heart Foundation plus substantial donations from the family and friends of two people who died in 2004 - Sister Marie Wright who was nurse at Dr Male's practice for 16 years and the Mr Thomas Power, a patient," said practice manager Joy Martin. "We know that the families are very pleased that the donations in their memory have been put to use in this way."
