Prizes need an airing

From the Gazette, first published Friday 3rd Jun 2005.

BACKERS of Thornbury FM, the area's community radio station which is due go to live for a trial fortnight later this year, are still inviting entries for a competition to design to a station logo.

"This is chance for anyone with a bit of artist flair to get creative and come up with an eye catching logo for posters and other promotional items," said Tim Pearce from the station's promotions team.

"Oldbury Power Station has supplied us with Walkmans and a DAB digital radio as prizes for the winners and we want as many entries as possible. They can be in any medium - either hand drawn or computer-generated." The competition is in four age groups - up to eight, nine to 12, 13-17 and 18-plus.

Entries - on A4 paper with name, address and age group on the back - should be sent to (or handed in at) Castle Estate Agents in High Street, Thornbury. Closing date in next Monday.

It's hoped the new station will go on air for the first time this November.
