Toolstation League Premier Division Hallen 6 Torrington 0
HALLEN reduced lowly Torrington to cannon fodder last Saturday as they hit six goals without reply.
Andy Finch led the way with a brace and was joined on the scoresheet by Andy Cook, Tony Green, Paul Griffiths and Jason Reynolds.
It only took six minutes for Hallen to take the lead when Gary Powell delivered to Andy Cook arriving unmarked on the far side of the box who headed back across the keeper into the far corner.
Hallen then proceeded to take Torrington apart and they had to be grateful to their keeper for some excellent saves from Tom Collett, Griffiths, and Green.
But he was unable to stop Hallen going two up on 41 minutes when Paul Nelmes advanced down the right and the attempted clearance saw the ball loop into the air for Andy Finch to score with a header.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Hallen scored their third when Yanni Fotidas took the ball into the right-hand corner of the pitch and pulled it back for Collett who picked his spot. Again the keeper made a fine save but could not hold the ball and Finch was there to bury the chance.
Hallen continued to dominate and on 68 minutes, Green was first to react to a ball bouncing around in the Torrington box and buried it for 4-0.
In the 73rd minute Jason Reynolds missed a sitter when he scooped the ball over the bar from the goal-line.
With eleven minutes to play, Griffiths cut into the penalty area and rifled the ball into the goalmouth and it finished up in the back of the net.
The score line was completed in the 85th minute when Green's cross was turned in by Reynolds.
